NatureXpairs 2024 Progress Report
The NatureXpairs 2024 Progress Report is available in English and French!
In 2024, NatureXpairs consolidated its commitment to protected areas worldwide, actively contributing to their extension and sustainable management. With the support of AFD, OFB and MEAE, the year was marked by the deployment of major projects, including Varuna_AMP, which strengthens the capacities of marine protected area managers in the Indian Ocean, and the SARRI program, aimed at structuring the Ramsar initiative in southern Africa. A structuring project in the Greater Caribbean has also been designed with SPAW-RAC to foster cooperation between marine and terrestrial protected areas in the region.
At the same time, NatureXpairs strengthened the mobilization of French expertise by leading the French HAC N&P Woking Group, enabling France to become the leading contributor of technical assistance to the global HAC N&P platform. Hosting an international delegation from India, encouraged exchanges on integrated territorial management, ecological continuity and adaptation to climate change.
The year was also marked by a significant training and skills-building component: 80 protected area managers benefited from technical training, mentoring and tutoring, notably within the framework of Varuna_AMP. Regional workshops were held to further develop synergies between the various players involved, and to enhance new partnerships.
