International training course “Building the future of heritage sites together: developing and implementing sustainable management”.

International training in integrated management of heritage sites under the patronage of UNESCO

Location: (town, country) Glux-en-Glenne (France) for the intensive week and all over France for the immersion program at a heritage site.

Duration: 11 days, every two years.

Total project budget: €1,500 per participant + accommodation in France (variable) and international transport (variable).

Financial and institutional partners: Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, Conseil Régional Bourgogne Franche-Comté.

Project description: Since 2010, the Pôle International has been offering an international training course in integrated management of heritage sites, under the patronage of UNESCO, which welcomes around 15 French-speaking professionals to each edition. Organized every two years, the two-week course includes group work led by a number of speakers (Grands Sites managers and partners of the Pôle International), field visits, individual immersion on a welcoming site, and collective, personalized support aimed at developing concrete perspectives for each manager’s site. The Pôle International is responsible for coordinating the pedagogical aspects of the training program, and assists each participant in implementing their training stay.
