Support for the Management of Protected areas in Albania

The project aims to support the management and governance of two nature reserves in Albania (Kune-Vain-Tale-Patok-Fushekuqe-Ishem and Karaburun), by drawing up management plans, improving scientific monitoring of biodiversity and training staff from Albania’s regional protected area agencies (RAPA).

Alongside the OFB, NatureXpairs has mobilized protected area experts to help Albania draw up management plans, set up scientific monitoring and provide training in GIS and protected area monitoring. This technical assistance is part of a public policy loan aimed at strengthening resilience and promoting green development in Albania.

Coordinated by Expertise France, this project supports the Albanian government’s reforms to achieve sustainable biodiversity management and a reduced carbon footprint, in preparation for its accession to the European Union.
