France-China dialogue on Wetland Cities

Contribute China and the EU's efforts to global strategies of the Ramsar Convention on wetlands

This project is designed to contribute to China’s and the EU’s efforts to global strategies of the Ramsar Convention on wetlands, as well as those of the UNFCCC and CBD, to make wetland cities excellent global models for biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation. It aims to enhance exchanges and collaboration on urban wetlands and biodiversity conservation through best practices in wetland cities in China and the EU.

NatureXpairs’ support aims to assist the Chinese project on wetland cities by facilitating dialogue and exchanges between China and France, providing successful models of urban biodiversity conservation and climate resilience from representative French wetland cities. Mobilizong the ecpertise of Ramsar France, two main actions will be implemented:

  • Sharing expertise and experience with Chinese stakeholders on wetland cities, through organizing one or more study trips to France on predefined themes (urban planning, tourism, risk management, etc.) and webinars.
  • Exploring the possibility of twinning cities in France and China based on similar issues.
